The nationalist part, found in the first word “National,” is pronounced “NAH-tsee-oh-NAHL.” They just abbreviated their word for “National” to “NATI…” Being a French word originally, they took the German pronunciation, nah-tsee-oh-nahl, and just shortened it to the first two syllables. The “NAH-tsee” part is from the part of the party name that refers to their extreme nationalism. Göbbels used to rant on about how he reconciled the “Socialist” part in there, but that got quite convoluted, and Hitler himself tended to concentrate on the nationalism theme.
