(10,702 posts)Laughing at a closeted gay man because he has never seen a naked woman is homophobic.

(55,334 posts)It's not hard to come up with an actual argument about why Lindsey Graham is utterly unqualified to address any given issue. We don't have to stooped ad hominem's

(7,309 posts)They will triple even quadruple down on their homophobia. They don't care about the LGBTQ community as long as they get to ridicule those whom they hate.

(10,702 posts)Doesnt make anything she says about race correct or not offensive.
Im gay and plenty of gay people say stuff thats offensive (look up internalized homophobia).
Regardless the LGBT community on to you has been assured repeatedly, that they will not allow attacks on his orientation here. But here it is again over and over.
Lunabell
(7,309 posts)But, not all Democrats are good people.

(34,914 posts)And, unlike Lindsey Graham, I don't see Pete Butegeig--or any other Democrat trying to take away the bodily autonomy of half the the country.

(35,454 posts)Right now he is fighting a subpoena which is asking him to account for his criminal behavior in Georgia. However his suggested law goes even further for women than an intrusion into a sexual life, already women are becomming very ill, in pain or dying because of lack of care and these laws in different states.

(26,525 posts)OTOH ...the particular gounds and victims of Grahams's attack do beggar the question: what does he personally know of the subject of his oppression? Has he any experience at all with the subject, direct knowledge, to inform his position? To provide him empathy?
How would you balance it?
he isn't even an expert on the technical aspects of a female body and the long/wide ranging consequences of this law.

Their line of attack is immature and insensitive. An emotionally healthy gay or lesbian person probably understands choice and individual decisions quite well.

(10,943 posts)... Judy Gold is wrong on different levels. I realize what she is trying to say, of course... she is also wrong in that seeing or not a vagina (her code for gayness) determines a man's position on issues.
Bucky
(55,334 posts)I don't think "They would do it, so we should do it too" works here. This just provides more ammo for the "both-sides-ism" bullshit.
Reinforcing the idea that there's something disqualifying about being gay, especially when it's an unsubstantiated rumor, snacks of desperation and a lack of moral compass

(55,334 posts)Playground insults about his personal life don't help the cause.
I mean, after all, aren't we opposed to his fascist anti-abortion bill precisely because it's morally wrong to get into other people's private business?
Why then turn around and do what we're just now arguing is wrong. Why try to prove the people who play the "both sides" game are correct?
CatWoman

(58,283 posts)He is a closeted gay man in an anti-LGBTQ party (actually a cult) who seeks to strip women of their freedom, all so he can appease his right wing base (who have always been suspicious of him). Why is pointing that out "bullshit"?

(12,744 posts)And according to "Jon Cooper Tweets" gay men shouldn't have a say in it?
If they're not allowed to oppose abortion because it doesn't affect them, why are they allowed to support it?
Not to mention that it isn't about "family planning," but bodily autonomy. But that's more nuance than I'd expect from a Twitter pundit.

(32,354 posts)Graham's outrageous proposal for a national abortion law makes him fair game. Democrats owe him absolutely nothing in the way of an apology for that panel's comments. If you feel differently, you're just granting the Republicans yet another undeserved and dangerous victory.

What do these assholes have to do?
There is video of him clearly contradicting himself, and other video of him warning us not to believe him, which was super ODD then as it is now?
If we get a media truth law, this crap can mostly go away.
These assholes would label something NOT media just so they can keep on with the BS?

How long do we think before a collective head explosion? Few minutes? Few seconds?
And yet, somehow, that is always and forever the case with the LGBT community.
