Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) asked Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday to remove his energy permitting package from a short-term government funding bill.Manchin conceded amid Republican threats to block an effort to advance his permitting proposal, and it likely paves the way for the spending patch to move ahead and keep the government open before funding expires on Friday. allow his caucus to give Manchin, aka Dems, a legislative victory no matter how much some or most Rs supported it?
Manchin got what Schumer and Biden promised, bringing the bill to the floor. Manchin made his own bed by forcing Biden to scale down his agenda, now he has to accept the consequences
