Manchin folds on his energy plan amid GOP stonewall

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) asked Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday to remove his energy permitting package from a short-term government funding bill.

Manchin conceded amid Republican threats to block an effort to advance his permitting proposal, and it likely paves the way for the spending patch to move ahead and keep the government open before funding expires on Friday. Schumer said on the floor that he and Manchin would “continue to have conversations about the best way” to move forward on the permitting effort before the end of the year...

Now let it die, Chuck!

for Manchin going behind their backs to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act?

Hard to see otherwise why they would block something to help fossil fuels.

Oh and just switch parties already, cuz you are no Dem. If you want to just enable rich MF'ers then just fucking leave. Maybe you'll have a revelation, but I sincerely doubt it.

allow his caucus to give Manchin, aka Dems, a legislative victory no matter how much some or most Rs supported it?

Manchin got what Schumer and Biden promised, bringing the bill to the floor. Manchin made his own bed by forcing Biden to scale down his agenda, now he has to accept the consequences

He has spent a year show-boating and he finally reached a bridge too far. Seems Turtle has tired of him and has set his sights on his AZ colleague.
