(6,703 posts)We have an old family friend in memory care at Shell Point Village and are super worried about him. I know they have evacuation shelters there and hopefully those will keep people safe enough.
Back in the 80s and 90s, when my grandparents lived at Shell Point, we had a condo overlooking the Sanibel bridge. It must be close to where you are.
Im sure theres a good plan for where you are right now. Sending you good wishes.

(6,687 posts)155 mph, almost a 5! Still strengthening. Those near coast or in mobile homes need to have left. Those of us in solid buildings and away from water just need to have a safe place during the worst. Around 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm today. Good luck folks!

Anchor was pretty much speechless.

She fears that "this monster is going to level her town".
