1. "The Pro-Vaccine Crew" - Jesus Christ . . . .
Maybe this civilization is officially too stupid to survive.

5. I agree, humans no longer seem survival driven.
Every choice made seems to load on the species not surviving the next 100 yrs.
Yes I agree, there seems to be a lack of intelligence, judgement, practicality and morality. We are letting ruthless psychopaths collapse civilization. |

2. I don't think vaccines for measles/mumps/chicken pox were available when I was a child
I had all three with no issues. I can distinctly remember getting them but was lucky to have not really felt particularly ill. In fact, I was a little put out I had to stay in bed. I did, of course, get the polio and small pox vaccines.
Despite my easy time with those afflictions, if I'd had children I would not have hesitated to vaccinate them. I have a nephew who is totally anti-vaccine of any sort and he has a 6 year old daughter. I have the burden of carrying a worry that she will get sick and not be as fortunate as I was. And, yes, he and his siblings were fully vaccinated and suffered no problems. Why he's gone down this rabbit hole is a total mystery. And, of course, I was vaccinated for a plethora of things when I was in the Navy. I should try and find out what all of them were. The only one that I really remember was the yellow fever vaccination I got before being stationed in Iceland. Made zero sense to me but who was I to argue? |

3. No they didn't have the vaccines in the 60s. I got everything but mumps.
I guess they usually aren't serious in kids but can be a problem for adults.
Polio is a serious threat to unvaccinated kids. |

4. They introduced the measles vaccine in 1963, same year I was born.
I only ever got chicken pox.
