But since then, national Republicans have largely abandoned Dixon, leaving her to fend for herself in a state that was supposed to be one of the partys top targets in 2022.
Trump may be the exception. Hes scheduled to headline a Saturday rally for Dixon and other GOP candidates in the state. His visit comes at a time when Whitmer and the Democratic groups supporting her re-election are crushing Dixon and the GOP in ad spending, $16.5 million to $924,000 through Wednesday, according to AdImpact, an ad-tracking firm.

(16,785 posts)In my state a friend of mine ran for congress against a very well established republican
My friend did not really stand a chance but he put himself on the ticket anyway.
Provide voters a choice and all that.
The state party was all happy for him until he got on the ticket.
After that they did not even return his phone calls.
I understand limited resources got to the most possible outcomes but to be cast adrift with nothing is just wrong

(18,618 posts)$100,000,000, but he's not sharing one dime with any of his "preferred" candidates. Instead, he's spending it on legal bills and travel expenses to and from his rallies, which have turned into money printing machines.
Sure he'll have a rally to bail out Dixon, but if the past is any indicator, he'll only give lip service to the candidate and allow Dixon to appear onstage at another of Trump's fundraising events.
Slap Dixon on the ass and wish him luck.

(21,528 posts)I havent even seen a Dixon ad. It is all Whitmer.
I saw one lonely Dixon sign some rethug illegally placed on public land (a highway exit ramp). It has since been removed.
