Why is this significant? If you watch the following video watch the shell explode a bit above the target point of impact:

Meaning this is the perfect weapon to attack deeply entrenched infantry like in the Donbas and Kherson. 100000 tungsten steel fragments explode just above the heads of Russian veterans and raw recruits alike
This may be over sooner than the experts think.

I remember Mrs. Solomon once being told by a Slav "we do not value life as you do". No shit.

Not that it really matters how you died once you get there. I'm sure there are more painful ones. But this just sends a shiver down my body.

(6,686 posts)Back at Ft Sill OK, I remember watching high explosive 155mm or 8in shells bursting above the ground. Man, it was nasty out there afterwards. Those Russian troops are in trouble.
I feel bad for those poor conscripts.

Internet experts are as accurate as usual. While actual capabilities are classified, logic indicates it is not best used against well-established defensive positions. Those can be handled with conventional HE munitions.
The M30A1 is designed for targets that are in an area but not precisely located. Also it is excellent against infantry assaults where troops have to leave their positions and are exposed.
The internet experts also said Russia was bluffing and would not invade.
