Elon Musk suggests Ukraine should be "neutral" in Russia's war in Ukraine and in an approach to peace, and says Crimea is "formally part of Russia" (US/other allies recognize Crimea is Ukrainian).
Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany weighs in: "Fuck off is my very diplomatic reply"

Other European leaders also voiced their opposition to Musks plan.
Dear @elonmusk, when someone tries to steal the wheels of your Tesla, it doesnt make them legal owner of the car or of the wheels. Even though they claim both voted in favour of it. Just saying, Lithuanias president, Gitanas Nausėda, tweeted in response.
Just in case you want to vote (I voted NO)

(3,559 posts)In the wide, wide world of fucks, is Ukraine supposed to be "'neutral' in Russia's war in Ukraine", given that Ukraine is an active participant and the victim in Putin's war of aggression?
Elon should STFU and stick to managing Tesla and his other companies. The more he opens his mouth, the further his stock price drops.
What the hell is wrong Elon Musk? He is getting weirder and more outrageous all the time and I didn't think that was possible.
You know, maybe he really doesn't like being the "richest man in the world" and on some level, he is trying to sabotage himself.

(1,445 posts)He has millions of followers on Twitter and it is strongly a cult that does his bidding. He trashed Netflix for being "woke" and told them to dump the service and they did sending Netflix into trouble.
So you can bet his telling this to his minions. Musk is a hard right conservative and full of himself wacko.

(12,667 posts)Too apparently. They both did their part to support Nazis during WWII.
Though I think Musk is a special kind of weird. I don't think he really believes anything. He just tends to be reactive depending on what kind of mood he's in. I think the guy needs medication.

(38,715 posts)How can Ukraine be neutral on Ukraine? I feel like something's missing in this Tweet...
Also, Crimea was FORMERLY (not "Formally" ) part of Rusher prior to 1954. It was Khrushchev's decision to give it to the Ukraine SSR. The reasons were self-serving: to add a million Russians to Ukraine.

I get what "Ukraine remains neutral" means in context, though: no NATO membership.

(38,715 posts)It wasn't a 'mistake', it was a deliberate ploy to increase the Russian minority in the UkrSSR.

Ukraine-Russia Peace:
- Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.
- Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchevs mistake).
- Water supply to Crimea assured.
- Ukraine remains neutral.

(6,365 posts)a unique ability to get incredible things done, a guy who it's hard not to admire. I just saw a video of a human like robot he is working on. You want to root for these incredible people even if they flawed personalities like Steve Jobs. But then Trump and a bunch of wacko, RWNJs come along and brainwashes a guy like Musk to say he will never vote for a democrat again. Too much weed or too much something and Mush becomes just another MF'en Deplorable. And isn't he making money with his StarLink satellites helping the Ukrainian military effort. Definitely too much weed.

(114,614 posts)but like many phenomenally talented people, he's thick as a brick when he steps outside his area of expertise, and his is coming up with engineering concepts that will work and hiring the kind of people who can get it out of the planning stage into something that does indeed work.
I confess I've wondered for the last couple of years what Russian agent he's been boffing. Somebody is feeding him this bullshit, it's out of character for his last 20 years or so.

(6,356 posts)Back when CA Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was the Republicans' darling, Orrin Hatch and Vic Snyder (with the help of Barney Frank, FFS!) proposed separate amendments that would allow naturalized citizens to run after a significant numbers of years as a citizen. (3,457 posts)They always end up thinking 'I have all this money, I must be smarter than everybody else.' No, he's not necessarily smarter because of money. He's fortunate. He grew up in a wealthy family, was able to attend college at multiple universities. In other words, he had multiple opportunities to pursue and accomplish things. Most anyone could if they had similar opportunities.
These people are coddled and they want for nothing. And since they assume they're smarter than everyone else they start talking. Which always brings us to the old saying, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."
Oh, by the way, fuck him!
