May I do a favor for my late husband?

I saw Maggie Haberman on Colbert last night blaming the “news media” fo getting Trump elected. My husband died suddenly in 2016. His final day, at dinner, he said, “Fuck the New York Times, they’re going to defeat Hillary and get that clown elected.” He meant you, Maggie. You think we forgot?

7. NYT, "Hillary Clinton's Long Road to 'Sorry' Over Email Use" By Maggie Haberman and Amy Chozick
Wed Oct 5, 2022, 11:09 AM

Maggie Haberman has never apologized for what she did to HRC by pushing the phony email scandal.
The NY Times published "a correction" about their coverage of HRC/emails in 2018 in a short blib inside
the paper.

Hillary Rodham Clinton did not want to apologize.

For months, when advisers or friends gently suggested she say she was sorry for using a private email address and server while at the State Department, Mrs. Clinton replied that her actions had been within the law and that political opponents and journalists were manufacturing the controversy. Apologizing, she argued, would only legitimize it.

On Tuesday, she relented. In an interview with ABC News, Mrs. Clinton said using a private email had been “a mistake,” adding: “I’m sorry about that.”

The tortured path to what some of Mrs. Clinton’s supporters saw as an overdue and essential step is the story of a presidential campaign in flux, adapting to unanticipated challenges it was not entirely prepared to handle — and of a candidate whose instincts, over a tumultuous lifetime in politics, have repeatedly guided her toward digging in, not giving in, when under attack.

But Mrs. Clinton, sliding in the polls — which show voters increasingly questioning her trustworthiness — does not want to see this shot at the presidency slip away. And the pleas from friends and advisers became more fervent almost a month ago, according to interviews with a half-dozen people with direct knowledge of the discussions, most of whom insisted on anonymity to discuss private conversations.

If it’s a Democratic candidate literally ANYthing can be a scandal, and it gets dragged out for weeks, or even months. If it’s a Republican it’s a one day story, often explained with a shrug and a dismissal; “oh, that’s just tRump being tRump…he’s so unconventional…” etc. etc.

Where are the endless stories about Matt Gaetz (sp?), or Gini Thomas and her husband refusing to recuse himself? I could go on and on. To dismiss it as just the media looking for a scandal is to miss the point. It’s heavily slanted, and not by accident.

But of course we didn't hear any of that. I remember seeing the policies of the two parties side by side on the news only on the day after the election. But no, they made that election all about a fictional corrupt Hillary cartoon. Emails disappeared the day after the election the same way drone warfare used to bash President Obama disappeared. Now everybody likes Hillary and says she was right about everything. Oh, now you like and trust her. At least Biden has Dark Brandon.

While hanging on TFG's ever word, they did voice overs when Hillary Clinton spoke, so that no one outside her physical presence got to hear what she had to say. It's the same shit they've been pulling on Democrats and why I pulled the plug on the evening news in 2004, opting for YouTube if something was deemed important enough to post. They haven't changed and I haven't, either, so during the news hour I'm happily listening to music or watching a movie or something that doesn't involve those corrupt assholes. I can catch up later, usually via the WaPo, the BBC, France 24, DW, Al Jazeera, and a variety of other print and video media.

The NYT, in its quest for spurious balance, was just as bad as the broadcast media. It still is. I keep the free subscription for Krugman's editorials. The rest is not worth the struggle for me to read.

Your husband was dead right, but it was only part of the plot to elect that POS. There were also the slick disinformation campaigns, carefully targeted by Cambridge Analytica, the Russian troll farm campaign, and finally James Fucking Comey throwing the election to TFG by claiming their was dirt on Hillary Clinton on Anthony Weiner's cell phone days before the election.

Still, we haven't forgotten Maggie.

But the Times started its hit job on the Clintons long before 2016. I still remember the absolute venom from William Safire, who considered the Clintons trailer trash.

We have very little, if any, objective media left in this country. Even the so-called liberal media is careful not to offend any Republican, and they continue to hype Trump as a 2024 candidate.

Few can forget, it happened before:

New York Times: we were wrong on Iraq
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2004/may/26/pressandpublishing.usnews

CNN has not been "good" for a long time.

They're turning into a gentler version of FOX Propaganda network.

We see the outrageous criminal behavior of Trump & his crime family - often toned down on cable news by some advocate on the right.
But Joe Biden's age or stutter/misspeak or other trivial criticism nonsense by comparison gets equal time or worse.

Biden's approval ratings are roughly similar to Trump's because he's getting unflattering coverage constantly and often being painted by some as categorically worse than Trump.

Republicans enabled Trump. He could not have got elected or maintained his time in the Oval Office without them. That makes them pretty close to as bad as Trump. And they're grooming a more dangerous replacement in DeSantis.
All of that would not be possible is it were not for the six Republican sympathetic entities who control 90% of the US media.

Maggie Haberman is just a small part of the bigger problem.

Once he was in the White House, she continued to help him (well it was mutual because he gave her exclusive interviews too). So why is she all angry and shit now, like she had nothing to do with it? She's trying to have it both ways, because she wants people to forget how she enabled Chump when he REALLY needed the help.
