Republican candidate Herschel Walker trails Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock by three points in the first Georgia Senate poll released following revelations Walker financed a womans abortion in 2009.
Thirty-four days remain until the 2022 midterm elections, which occur on November 8th.
If no candidate cracks 50% of the total vote, a run-off election between the top two candidates will take place at a later date.

I no longer expect them to make judgments on character, but you'd think they'd at least be slightly sensible.
I guess having stupidly accepting Trump's forcing Walker on them, they now are thinking, "At least he would help tip the senate to our side," even though that means they have to deal with his nuttiness for 6 years.

(4,846 posts)When I heard the news at first framed as "we got our first October surprise", then I learned about the abortion allegation. I immediately thought it's not going to change much. In a tight race, it might well be enough to keep Warnock in the seat, but it's not big enough to sink a candidacy like they used to.
Matter of fact, I wonder if there is any scandal that can sink a republican chance anymore.
