Botany
(76,748 posts)A little bit of Russian to English troll bot gibberish.
< The point is, just saying "I'm disappointed" is not good enough when the worker making the median wage is being gouged at the pump and can't make ends meet. >

(33,643 posts)which has consistently been ... we need to get off of fossil fuels.
2M bbl/day of crude LESS on the market is good for the environment. Higher oil prices can, in theory at least, hasten the switch to electric vehicles.
So, do you see the dichotomy created by him doing as you are insisting?
Agree about M$NBC and Walker and such, however.

(6,216 posts)fossil fuels. California already is short of electric power to recharge EV batteries.

(33,643 posts)As was the fact that when gas prices rise, so do the prices on electrics/hybrids. Because both production costs rise, and demand rises. So that can be a countervailing force towards EV adoption rates when oil costs rise.
Point is though ... Biden adopting a public position of 'the world needs to crank out the oil!', which is the course being suggested in a nutshell, it definitely opens him up to criticism (and some of it would fair) and cries of hypocrisy.
This is a problem all politicians are going to have when they champion actions against climate change.
As an aside, California doesn't burn oil for power. They use natural gas, but not oil.

(6,216 posts)because during hot weather days, EV owners were advised to not charge batteries during peak demand.

(33,643 posts)Again, such concerns are a part of why I said 'In Theory' in the first friggin place. The infrastructure needs improvement to support widespread EV adoption. I stipulate to this fact.
That reality doesn't change the fact that Biden is in a tough political position in terms of his options for attacking OPEC+ for cutting oil production, given his message has consistently been we need to get OFF of oil for the sake of the environment.
That was my point and I don't think it's all that arcane.

(6,216 posts)My only point is we may be moving towards green energy faster than necessary. When brown outs take place it unnecessarily maligns green energy.

Herschel Walker has to be the poorist candidate on the planet. Even he realizes how dumb he is.
And he is openly being touted as just a puppet.
It's so bad it's just pitiful. Doing this to someone as mentally habdicapped as Herschel is is just wrong.
