Could all the Republicans who are "outraged" by the President's pardons for marijuana

possession TRY to wrap their heads around this FACT: by far the most widely used and abused drug in this country is now and has always been---ALCOHOL !

If there is a "gateway drug", it's warm beer guzzled while sitting on a tailgate.

And, ask a cop who he'd most expect trouble from: someone who's baked or someone who's drunk.

you can be sure they totally deserved it.

Their reasoning (if you can pretend they use reason in any decision making process) is that Trump is never wrong, so nothing he says or does could possibly be wrong either.

They really do treat him as their god. They question nothing.

support for legalization of marijuana - it's just getting it past some of these repub neanderthals who prefer their own agenda to that of the people who voted them in - they probably think Reefer Madness is real.

Jailing people for weed is a huge fraud on the taxpayer dollar.

Republicans are in bed with prison for profit. Marijuana was demonized in the 50s and 60s making it easy to demonize the user Ang justify locking them up.

It also gives them control over the convicted, keeping them from getting a head in life. No loans, no business license and any other actions they could do to keep the population poor.

Remember republicans are all about controlling the population.

Lots of money is made in privately controlled prison "systems." Ask the Bush family crime syndicate who invested in it. Don't expect an answer. Right Jeb? W? CCA Corrections Corporation. And AWOL W was into cocaine for decades.

So those would be largely Washington DC and largely black if I recall those statistics properly. These folks don't need to worry, they'll still be able to keep black folks in Florida disenfranchised for having a joint.

and having to run the gamut of FDA testing and approval. I think if the FDA applied their standards to ethanol as if it’d just been discovered, it would be nearly impossible to find it safe for human consumption. They may find limited medical applications, but I expect it would be a regulated substance.

The only thing that would make marijuana a “gateway drug” is where it is placed relative to the gate. (Well, that and misrepresenting its effects and dangers to youth, who would then have less faith in warnings against other drugs.)

Weed was equated with cocaine, heroin, LSD, et al. When people found out they were lied to about weed, of course there was less of a barrier for many to try more.

I will concede that the lies and hysteria meant to curtail the use of weed made weed a gateway drug. Marijuana isn't the gateway though, in reality. The lies are.

If you'll excuse me, I still have about 1/3 a bowl of member berry to consume.

The same can be said when he came out in favor of gay marriage as VP, well ahead of the "official" administration similar position on the matter. (I'm pretty sure that was a planned "gaffe.&quot

The dude knows he can move the needle when he needs to, and when he does, he knows the opposition will look foolish in their foot-stomping.

Biden wasn't my first choice in the 2020 nomination phase. I'm not sure he was in my top five. The dude is delivering. He is winning issues while he is doing it.
