(822 posts)then no one can claim that there is such a thing as a good cop.
Unless he just went off, for the first time like that, right then, then he was a known issue, and other officers and his supervisors should have solved this problem a long time before he ever got to pull this performance.
AS LONG AS BAD COPS ARE STILL IN THEIR JOBS THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "GOOD" COP

(58,785 posts)I know what you mean, but to me the "no such thing" is...intensely unrealistic. In the same category as insisting that as long as irrational and dishonest arguments are allowed on social media there can be no thoughtful or honest comments. (Say no to fake profundity.)
Btw, there are something over 18,000 law enforcement departments in this nation alone. I don't know if that will spark new thought, but they operate independently under separate leadership and legal codes and purposes.

(822 posts)then there are ni such thing as good cops. If there are police officers who act inappropriately, then their co-workers and superiors are aware of it. if they are not immediately taken to task for their actions and made to answer for them in the same way that they enforce such upon civilians, then there are no "good cops". merely collaborators with the bad cops. Collaborators are not "Good", they are merely going along to get along.
I am adamant upon this point. This single issue is non negotiable. If bad cops exist, then good cops do not.

I notice a pattern here with these guys, whether with men or women black or white people, they seek to assert unquestioned dominance on any small thing or they just lose it. Power comes with responsibility. Not ego.
