How will the GOP react to the results of the 2022 election?
Same way they react to EVERYTHING!: They will move further to the extreme right. And more insane.
This will happen if they win big. This will happen if they win small. This will happen if they lose big. This will happen if they lose small. And this will happen with every result between every possible outcome.
How do I know this? Look at every election since 1960. No exceptions. Every election, every trend, every national tragedy, or triumph, every news event and social trend somehow becomes a signal to Republican politicians that they need to move further to the right, discard decency and sanity. They double-down and then double-down again, it's an un-ending feedback loop that never moves even micrometer back towards the middle and what is considered "Centrist" itself moves rightward every news cycle.
Any political pundit who predicts any other result, is worthless.

(51,555 posts)Moderates don't even bother running as Republicans because they won't make it through their primaries. Their voters have been brainwashed by RW media, hate radio, loony blogs, and loud opinionated Youtubers.

(13,561 posts)the other factor is white evangelical preachers. They have a captive audience on Sundays and they are a big part of the MAGA cult driving the US toward Christian Nationalism and extremist policies.

(24,541 posts)If you only talk with people who are below average, you're going to keep getting percentages that are decreasing.
If I remember high school math (and 1.0 represents some average intelligence):
You (0.9) * friend (0.9) * another (0.9) = 0.72.
Throw in some offspring and you can quickly get down to 0.4 (40%) of average intelligence.
