https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/california-restaurant-hosts-mike-lindell-17502100.phpA Calif. restaurant hosted Mike Lindell. It didn't go over well.
Tres Chiles Picosos, a Mexican restaurant in Humboldt County, became the subject of intense social media backlash last week after it posted a photo celebrating a visit from Mike Lindell, the so-called MyPillow Guy who rose to notoriety a few years ago for his conspiratorial views on COVID-19 and the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
The restaurants owner, Michelle Hill, told SFGATE that two employees a waitress and a bartender recognized Lindell because they buy his MyPillow products, and were unfamiliar with his role in national politics. Hill said she allowed a manager to post the photo on the restaurant's Facebook page because her staff was excited that a quasi-celebrity like Lindell had visited; it was not intended to be a political statement, she said.
"I don't get into politics," she said. "We knew nothing about him apart from that he's the MyPillow guy ... my staff buys his pillows, his sheets, his socks, they were just excited to see someone famous."
But some social media users thought that Tres Chiles Picosos associating with Lindell goes beyond normal partisan politics.
It's not about the politics, it's about the crimes and sedition, one Facebook user wrote. You don't post photos with other tourists, why start with him.

(65,136 posts)...that Mikey runs a small company and that her 2 employees aren't representative of the vast majority of her customers.
Leaving aside the frivolous suits, inflammatory craziness & possible direct involvement with sedition, he's at most a class D "celebrity".
Even ignoring the above, what benefit would her business derive from that FB post?

(19,204 posts)and it smells like a steaming bowl of bullshit.
If her employees are buying all of Pillow Dude's crap, they must know what a freaking asshole he is, and that his "stuff" is overpriced garbage.
I don't think I'd like eating in a restaurant where the catch of the day is a huge freaking liar!

People can be dumb if they wish, and I don't feel a need to destroy them for it.
That would make me no better than them.
