He wasn't just absent, he was actively involved, was an active co-instigator, and was *ACTIVELY REFUSING* to call the mob off.

We have to recognize, and publicly call out this was worse than doing nothing, it was a plan, and this was not a simple case of the captain being asleep at the wheel which might be looked on as less heinous than what it was -- an active participation launching an armed mob and allowing it to nearly destroy our democracy.

1) Given it was filmed by her daughter, I'm sure the intent was to be flattering to Speaker Pelosi even before it ended up being historically significant footage. That doesn't detract from the fact that her actions sure gave her daughter something worth recording!

2) But lots of credit, also, to the J6 committee for their stage managing of the hearings. Getting their powerful piece of media out there as the crowning message of the hearings is a nice touch, especially just as early voting is starting. Must have the Repukes spitting bile once again over the advantage we have in liberal entertainers embedded in our party (remember the virtual party conventions of 2020?)

was how calmly that Nancy Pelosi spoke during the crisis. Schumer as well. All hell was breaking loose around them and they calmly contacted appropriate people, described the situation, and discussed options. No shouting, crying, hand wringing, or whining. Kept their heads and worked out solutions.
