• OpenAI, a company founded by Elon Musk, just made its DALL-E image generator open to the public.

• Artists say they work for years on their portfolios and people can now make copycat images in seconds.

Screen actors/actresses went through a similar crisis in the 1990’s with the advent of highly realistic computer rendering. How is one supposed to compete with a John Wayne/Marylin Monroe? Who not only does exactly what a director wants, but doesn’t get caught up in any off screen scandals. The saving grace then was CGI was extremely expensive and took forever.

It looks like maybe Graphic Artists are next up.

I've been dealing with copyright issues for many, many years and the AI is not doing anything illegal...or wrong, in my estimation.
Artists have been imitated forever. This only makes it easier.
