Why is it important to listen to a speech given in 1961? The same tactics are being used today. Many people will vote against Democrats in the 2022 election just because Magats are calling them Socialists.

Trying to abolish Medicare and Social Security is nothing new for the Republican party, now the Magat party.

8. This was part of a campaign by the AMA called "Coffee Talk"

(Or some similar name) in which wives of doctors all over the country were encouraged to invite their friends for coffee and discussion about the dangers of socialized medicine.

The highlight of the visit would be to gather around the phonograph and listen to this speech by Hollywood actor Reagan. Having been a union president earlier, this must have been his first foray into market-driven politics.
