President Joe Biden spent the weekend at his home in Delaware, where he met up with his wife, other family members and if they followed usual practice Willow the cat and Commander the dog.
Its a familiar weekly ritual. As of this point in his presidency, Biden has spent more than a quarter of his time working from his home state of Delaware, either at his house in Wilmington or his Rehoboth Beach property.
Some 21 months into his term, Biden has made 55 visits to Delaware, totaling some or all of 174 days as of Sunday, according to a CNN analysis of presidential schedules and a tally kept by Mark Knoller, the longtime unofficial statistician of the White House press corps. In addition, Biden has made 19 visits, or all or part of 64 days, to the Camp David presidential retreat in rural Maryland.
He has now surpassed even the getaway time of former President Donald Trump, so often criticized by Democrats for his regular departures from the White House to stay at one of his personal homes. At this point in his tenure, Trump had spent about 135 days at either his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, or his home at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Trump also had spent 23 days at Camp David.09
Oh right, this article is from CNN.

(82,849 posts)Reporters were uniformly barred from seeing the former guy when he was hunkering down at one of his resorts, charging the taxpayers thousands and thousands of dollars for the Secret Service to stay there. What was he doing? Playing golf, for the most part.
What is President Biden doing during his time at home or Camp David? We know he's not golfing. And he's getting items crossed off his agenda, like the Inflation Reduction Act. This is a pretty lame attempt at both-sidesing the work ethic of President Biden with the non-existent work ethic of the former guy.

(115,783 posts)TFG played golf while he was away and didn't do a hell of a lot of work even when he was in DC. Biden keeps working. And Delaware is a hell of a lot closer to DC than Florida; you can drive to either Wilmington or Rehoboth Beach in a little over 2 hours.

(37,452 posts)is ten minutes, it take him longer to drive. The flight time by Marine I to Andrews is about 4 minutes.
So its probably longer from the NG base to his house 7.5 miles away

@CarolLeonnig
NEWWW - Trump Org charged @SecretService five and six times the government rate for agents who had to stay at his properties to protect him and his families.
As much as $1185 a nite for Trump International -- not "at cost" and "free" as Eric Trump claimed
There's quite a bit of difference, and Delaware is a 30 minute helicopter ride from DC,
Why the republican talking point on DU?
