▶️ Senator Leahy introduces new memoir to crowd at UVM

His recently-released memoir, “The Road Taken” documents his nearly 5 decades of service after being first elected in 1974.
In his memoir, he talks about how became friends with the Obamas, his opposition to going to war after 9/11 and being the target of anthrax letter attacks in the early 2000s.
“The letter was hand addressed, by mistake it went to the state dept. One of the employees there who picked it and looked and it and said, “Oh this was supposed to go to the senate,” and put it in the mail letter pile … he died!” said Leahy
“Touching the outside of it killed him and it was addressed to me. That was a very nerve-wracking time.”
