People say they will vote for the GOP because of inflation and the economy

but have no idea what they are planning to do to change things and what the results of their plans will be.

I can see these same voters saying in a year or two "but that's not what I voted for!"

There are too many voters who lack basic understanding.

I only hope there are enough who do understand, and that they come out and vote.

The same corporations who illegally used their Pandemic payments to for everything EXCEPT for keeping employees and paying their workforce. Same people who are now pricing the working class out of energy and food security. They want to vote FOR the people who voted AGAINST giving them help. SMH

...if they can't see what's right under their noses. Conservatives only break things. They are complete financial fuckups. Over and over, families have done worse when conservatives get their way. The country can't afford more Republican incompetence and corruption.

why are voters so dumb?

They really think it is that simple?

They voted Dem in 2008 because of the recession, so we get the benefit of this too, I suppose. But they don't give us a real chance. 2 years is a short time.

And why is there a recession with low unemployment - usually we see high unemployment before people get anxious. It's like the media just makes the economy sound bad no matter what is happening, to get more horse races out of it.

Also telling them that even though Hershal Walker is a compulsive liar he was able to continue to stand upright during the debate he exceeded expectations so.... The list goes on and on. To bring people into the tent. Personally, I don’t think that starts with telling people how stupid they are because they don’t understand the tax code or macro economics.

Better to maybe acknowledge sometimes that people come from different backgrounds and educational levels and enlighten them in ways they understand how Republican policies are against their interests and Democratic policies will help them.

While some here may disagree with any outreach to conservatives or low-info traditionalists, swelling our ranks with coverts is certainly preferable to hoping “there are enough who do understand, and that they come out and vote.”

Both now and in the long run.
