(2,268 posts)3. Great news! I sent my absentee ballot in today.
The instructions I received provided two sets of instructions:
a) INSTRUCTION 1: Make two copies of oath of elector and place one with the general election ballot in one envelope and the second copy of the oath with the runoff ballot. This means that my vote would not be private.
b) INSTRUCTION 2: Put the oath of elector in the main envelope and place only the ballots in the smaller envelopes.
Naturally I followed the second instruction, but it made me wonder how many follow the first. Will their votes be thrown out? Who knows?
