Our Soccer and Rugby teams do well, though.

Alex Spanos has always been a wannabe Angelino glitterati. It's rather hard to be a glitterati in San Diego.
Tho' the Fairbanks Ranch crowd and some La Jolla folks try really hard.
San Diego is not a place to be if you want to be seen.

Just saying.

I'm not a fan of the Padres. I just found the smack talk a little premature.

It's a 7 game series, and Game 1 doesn't decide the series, any more than it did in the Dodgers series, otherwise the Phillies would be at Dodger Stadium right now. And this series is Best of 7.

I was being polite with a touch of humor, my friend. And yes: I know it’s a best of 7.

As we have too often said here in Philly: there’s always next year.

I wanted the Dodgers, and they proved that the regular season record doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I do think that both the main League series should be Best of 7 though.

Had a fantastic diatribe against this entire system. If you go to his podcast and check the i-button from about 10 days or so ago you can find the synopsis and then listen to it. It was brilliant as per usual.

At end of season wins it all in one series. Dodgers had 14-5 record against padres.
