WHERE IN GOD'S NAME ARE THE AD'S ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY!!!!

The strongest motivational factor for humans is fear. That's why the republicans lie to scare the largest voting block ( seniors) to vote for them. The republicans are openly talking about getting rid of social security and medicare. This is a political gift for the Democratic party that comes around once in a thousand years AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS NOT RUNNING ANY ADS ON THIS ???!!!!! WTF! WTF! Every other ad on tv and other mediums should be about republicans talking about destroying what all seniors rely upon.I have not seen a single add pointing this out. Every single ad is about abortion rights. HEY DEMOCRATIC PARTY, YOU CAN RUN ADS ON BOTH, I REPEAT BOTH subjects! What in god's name is wrong with the Democratic party that they are not using this??? It's political mana from heaven. Its a christmas present with a freakin' bow attached to it and the Democratic party doesn't"t use it to help sway the biggest voting bloc in the country??? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE DEMOCRATIC LADERSHIP ON THIS??? I cannot believe they are flushing a golden oppertunity like this down the toilet.Banging my head against the f'ing wall to try and understand this.

Ads not only run on broadcast (radio and television) but on internet streams and in social media.

But more specifically, they are often target-marketed so one locale won't see ads directed at demographics in a different one.

For example, if you live in a rural area, why the hell would you want to hear ads promoting ways to deal with gun violence in a city? Those living in urban areas certainly would see and welcome such.

That is the point I'm making in the above - just because someone doesn't "see" (or "hear" ) a specific ad where they live doesn't mean that none exist at all.

starting just before 3:30 pm, I am bombarded. I am in Philly and we are treated to both Fetterman (Senate) and Shapiro (Governor) ads.

When I have had MSNBC on in the evenings - going all the way back to after the primary here that happened in May, I have been seeing our Democratic candidate's commercials during that evening MSNBC programming. Here in PA, the ads from PACs have also been shown ON TV like those from Senate Majority PAC, The Lincoln Project, and even MeidasTouch (which was like a for me).

In fact, although I see more PA-targeted ones, here is a Lincoln Project one aimed at Rick Scott and Ron Johnson -

It has been quite a difference this year for that same Senate seat from what we experienced in 2016 when Teabagger Toomey had originally run, and went all summer long on TV and radio with his ads before Katie McGinty got off a shot.

I am surprised because if you read DU regularly, probably half say they have "cut the cord" and/or "haven't watched TV in 20 years" and other remakes. So....

I agree, spend money on ads about the good things the DEMS have done and will do. And the bad things the GQP threatens to do.

I will send money and vote for the people in my state that are doing their job.

But I won't try and decipher who in some other state is doing their job.

Since one donation to ActBlue, I have received over 60 emails since Sept 7. Every day more ads from people I do not know.

And certainly don't know their voting records.

How many are MAGA in sheep's clothing? Doing what they do best, LYING about who they are.

to force cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Why is that not being blasted everywhere along with their names?

We need Howard Dean back at the DNC. He at least understood the need to compete, even in Red states. Republicans in the Rio Grande Valley are making big inroads with Hispanics because they’ve visible. They’s set up Republican Community Centers that show movies and have activities for kids, all while pushing their politics. What are Democrats doing to counter? Nothing.

We have as much money nationally as Republicans do. How ia it they can afford constant negative messages, but we can’t? Harrison needs to go as head of the DNC right after this election. He is practically invisible.

With non stop adds to privatize Medicare and end it. GQP are not concerned with mobs of 65+ year olds storming the street with canes and walkers, bad hips/knees and oxygen tanks. And after SC North Carolina ruling ahead, our vote is useless. All the young people see is paying for something they are told they will never get, GQP talk. And if they get their wish, all of us will end getting it or never start.
Time to end ALL pensions and health care to elected thieves.
The only adds in Sinclair World here in 11th district NC, is Biden’s Raging crime wave slaughtering masses and masses of people. (With no mention of guns of course) Our Koch are adds making Beasley look Like a black from the hood old crack lady.
Where the hell is the money and adds Chairmen Jaimie said the where waiting to get close to elections? Ask GQP corporate media. There was no shortage of adds in 2020 for comrade Tulsi Gabbert here. Wonder what that?

If so, what was the response?

One can tell how important an issue or situation is to a person by the amount of effort they put in dealing with it. That's human nature. An issue of little to no import will illicit little response.

The GOP has used the meme of "They're coming to take your guns" for years now and it works. Fear works. Why can't the Dems run the "They're coming to take your Social Security and Medicare" meme? There are certainly plenty of examples of the GOP saying they'll do just that.

As others have said on other threads, the DNC needs a marketing firm approach to their ads.

But I totally agree if there are no ads there should be lots and nonstop. I have seen two ads which were local- one was against Zeldin, with a woman talking about how she had had to have an abortion to save her life and she was worried that he would try to ban abortions and help to make new restrictive laws if he becomes governor. And the other was with Bridget Fleming I can’t remember what she said but I think she might’ve talked about Social Security. He will also try to gut ss and medicare I am sure.

There is a real possibility now that he could become governor which is going to be a disaster. This is what I said could happen when they ousted Cuomo.

(Welcome to DU, by the way!)

I think we are going to have to get the ads out ourselves through our own social media and encourage our like-minded friends to like the posts, but especially comment and share.

Here's a few:

(from The Democrats) - features senior citizen reaction - effective but at 2:20 longer than some attention spans

- from The Lincoln Project - good overview, effective, and at 1:16 will possibly be watched by more.

(another from the Lincoln Project, audio, with a photo of Ron Johnson – 0:58)

These would be too long and expensive for TV or cable but are well suited to social media, especially if friends are tagged.
