Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsEver notice the media can't ever find a democratic voter to interview in the wild.
Its like we are the rare bird no one could possibly find. Like we are the extinct ivory billed woodpecker.
Its all rethug opinion all the time from the commoners. No focus groups of democrats. Making it seem they are the will of most. Swaying things in a rightward direction. They are a fucking joke.
I dont know about you but Im frigging sick of seeing and hearing from these ignorant blowhards who are conspiracy littered bags of stupidity.

(102,360 posts)their marching orders when going to small towns in "red state America" was to stay clear of any more 'upscale' restaurants, coffee shops, and any but the most stereotypically (likely to be) RW customers. He said he was told (and this was his quote of the stereotype given to him), "the 'dirtier' the better, we want 'real Amurika'"
It was pretty sickening.

(37,162 posts)...take on what the reddies actually think than directly asking them, because we know what they say "off the record". And they're very rarely hesitant to pipe up about what they think, and a lot of us don't "look" liberal, so we're assumed to be in agreement.

real 'Murkin: INFLATION!
tv: And there you have it, folks! After the barrage of 50 commercials for overpriced pharmaceuticals you don't need and health insurance that will bankrupt you, we'll be back for an update on INFLATION.

(9,111 posts)Since most of the media are city and urban types, every election they like to go out "into the wild" to see what those strange creatures who don't live in cities think.
They could just have David Attenborough narrate the pieces for them. Imagine his voice. "And here we are at the Denny's, careful not to startle the pack after they've emerged from their evangelical lair. One moop with his bright flannel shirt is clearly signalling to the females in the group that he is interested. But as the females gather around the gossip circles, he's not having much luck. The older males, content in their place among the pack, oversee the gathering from plastic booths sipping coffee obtained in an earlier hunt."
It's both obnoxious and hilarious at the same time.
"People. What are they?!" And the reporters always do that nodding along thing like they know. They wouldn't be caught dead with these people on a Friday.

I gave up on broadcast news in 2004, but they'd been pissing me off long before that. They not only can't find a single Democratic voter, they can't manage to keep their traps shut while Democratic candidates are speaking, so that people know what the difference between the parties is. I just got sick of campagins treated like horse races, who is where, when.
The last 18 years have not changed my low opinion of broadcast "journalism." They have confirmed it.
