Patel appeared before the DC grand jury that is looking into the theft of classified documents. We know from reporting that Patel and former "The Hill" reporter John Solomon were involved in the theft of the documents.
Patel testified for 3 hours on October 13th, I know DOJ doesn't leak, but we found out.
Hopefully Trump didn't know that Patel was testifying because he would have threatened him. I'm guessing Patel pleaded the 5th, Trump better hope so.
Back to coffee boy, when Trump found out that Patel testified, he immediately disowned him on his social media platform.

(86,795 posts)Before he was subpoenaed or would testify since he was installed in the national archives to cover for the theft, at least that's what I think.

(21,406 posts)When I see Mark Meadows go before the grand jury then I will know that Garland is getting serious. Meadows is the key to indicting Trump on numerous crimes, he kept Trump's hands clean, he was in charge of packing up the classified documents, he was the go between Trump and the Willard Hotel.

(21,406 posts)The more I think about it though, if Trump did nothing wrong why would he be worried what Patel said? Patel isn't going to risk jail by committing perjury. Trump is showing he has a guilty conscience.

(3,245 posts)I know everything right now as to what he sais/didn't say is purely speculative so I'm only guessing.
From everything that seems to out in the public domain, Kash Patel could very easily be viewed as a target in the investigation along with Trump. He seems to have his hand in many of the various tentacles in the investigation.
So my question becomes, would DOJ be willing to offer him immunity and remove him as a target in exchange for his Grand Jury/Trial Jury testimony against the remaining targets?

(21,406 posts)but if Patel had damning evidence, DOJ would give him immunity. It all depends on what he has to offer. They could also make Patel a target and faced with jail time he could flip.
Normally I would guess that Patel doesn't seem to be the type to flip on his own, but when Trump called him a liar, he may have flipped. Remember, Patel testified a week ago, and I'm sure that Trump has spies all over so maybe Patel did flip?
Waiting on the Big Fish, Meadows.

(3,245 posts)and others,
It almost gives you the feel that Patel is the Michael Cohen of the Trump Administration.
He knows where all the bodies are buried but not high enough on the food chain to not be thrown under the bus.

(10,130 posts)Trump repeated the claim that he wanted to call in the National Guard ahead of the Jan. 6 attack, saying that former Defense Department official Kash Patel was a witness to that. The Jan. 6 committee has shared footage disputing Trump's claim about having 10,000 troops at the ready.
I can't find the link quickly but Trump also cited Kash Patel as a witness to Trump declassifying documents (which Patel refuted in a July video)
I guess Trump figured since either Patel never spoke with him or if Patel spoke with Trump, Patel was saving his own butt and therefore, he had to describe his witness as a pathological liar.
