Bannon off to a bad start

Things don't seem to be going super well for Bannon this morning. As NBC's Ken Dilanian noted on MSNBC moments ago, there have been two big moments during the hearing so far:

Judge Nichols ruled in favor of the DOJ, stating a contempt of Congress conviction is indeed subject to a mandatory minimum jail sentence of 30 days.

He also agreed with prosecutors that Bannon has shown zero remorse for his wrongdoing.

He was charged with 2 offenses each carrying up to 1 year each.
But the sentencing guidelines limited to only 6 months.

The judge said he showed no remorse and this morning Bannon was arrogantly smiling after the sentence.
Why not give him the 6 months?
I still haven't heard any monetary penalty.

imagines the possibility of going from one jail to the next once the DOJ gets going after the election. like trump his only hope id republicans taking over congress and senate.

being a martyr, eating prison food, no booze or expensive wines, all so he can come out with a few scars he can show off on his podcast or fox is what he's looking at. it will help his grifting but that base of dittohead trumpers is going to keep dropping and by a lot when the talk radio blowhards cool off on supporting a growing list of convicts.

he's got to be scared as shit of being in jail when he gets charged for being a go between for trump and the insurrectionists, as well as the wall fraud, as well as russian collusion.

there are criminals and future criminals who will be ratting him out, and that might include trump pulling him in as a russia go between.

he can't help but imagine when he goes in for 4 months he might be in there for many years

He will be in with bank robbers, gun runners, and drug dealers and none of them are going to be in much of a mood to respect his "Do you know who I am?" act. For once, this over privileged right wing sociopath is going to realize what life on the bottom is like. That's going to kick him hard where he lives.

It's not going to modify his behavior in any positive way, see: sociopath. It won't matter that much, his next stop will be a state prison for fraud, which is not a misdemeanor.

I can guarantee you Bannon isn't looking forward to 120 days in jail. This is a man who tells everyone else what to do and he won't be able to do that in prison.
