I rarely get more than two per day from other candidates. I don't even know how I got on her list.

I thought Adam LAXALT was old Sen. Paul Laxalt's son, so when I heard he was being ribbed for railing against immigration while being the grandson of Mrs. Domenici, an undocumented Italian immigrant, I was a bit confused. Paul was his GRANDFATHER. His mother was Paul's daughter, a lobbyist, who had an affair with Pete Domenici (awful NM senator, beholden to all sorts of energy and mining companies). Domenici already had EIGHT children with his wife. Domenici is the one whose mother came here without going through the legal channels (so did my grandfather, btw.... so did many, many of our forebears).

Anyway, Domenici did not acknowledge Laxalt as his son until 2013!

3. Every time I open email now

I have 30 messages begging for money for different candidates. I've given as much as I can afford, but it never seems to be enough. I can unsubscribe, but then that feels disloyal.

Unsubscribe and 5 more from other candidates and states take its place. I get the need for $$$$ and the importance of this election but OMG I am weary of “the sky is falling, please send money” emails.
