General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWell after almost two months I am finally home and back in familiar settings.
I still have a long way to go on my recovery. I am back with my pet of 16 years (which I feel will be the best medicine). I have home health care in charge of my care now and I am home bound, but it's a start.
I want to thank all my neighbors for helping me get my house in order after hurricane Ian and I especially want to thank the DUERS that offered me encouragement through time in my need. to you.

(6,806 posts)Your pet lets you know the goodness in the world. Your caregivers give you comfort and healing. Read books. They can take you to faraway worlds. Watch a little TV. It will make you laugh. Home is a good place to be. I am happy for you.

Hold your pal tight. My cat too is 16 and I had to leave her for 5 days last week. I was just hoping she'd be there when I got home. She was and has been sticking close to me ever since I walked through the front door.
Healing thought sent your way.

I am glad to hear that you are back in your home with your beloved pet, it makes all the difference. That you have assistance making it possible for you to recover at home is a very good thing.
Do take care and don't take any risks!

(55,148 posts)Then along came hurricane Ian and because of flooding I got moved from facility to facility to facility. All the while wondering what was going on with my house.
Thats it in a nutshell.

(2,841 posts)This is a big change going from Rehabilitation back to living on your own. Don't overextend yourself and be careful about anything that could contribute to a fall. Best wishes, and congratulations on getting back towards normal.

(206,072 posts)On both counts! Thanks for staying in touch when no one could blame you otherwise since you were dealing with so much all at once, and thanks for letting as know that you're finally settled and safe. You've sure been through a lot, but you handled it all, so you need to give yourself credit for that. And welcome home to DU, you have so many friends here who missed you and care.
