Whats the best time to vote to avoid lines?

I dropped kids off at school and went to polling place. Line appeared to be at least an hour long. Anyone know what time is the best for voting if you want to avoid lines?

But when I was an election judge, we usually saw a slow-down between end of lunch and end of workday hours. People with the day free tend to straggle in all morning. Then you get a lunch crowd. By 2, it's usually dwindled... and then it picks up around 4pm with the folks who get off early (as allowed by law) to vote.

Just like grocery shopping. People who do not work outside the home are home fixing dinner. The rest of us are still at work.

Sorry, but I can't help feeling just a little smug when I see the pictures of the long lines.
