Not a bad forum, sort of like Reddit.
Could act as a less-toxic alternative to Twitter and Reddit. And so far as I know, your personal data is safe.

I try to always carefully source my interactions.

I was all hyped ranting here in favor of TribelSocial developed by Omar Rivero who also runs Occupy Democrats.
Turns out there are...questions.
Someone here pointed this out to me. Now I'm seeing the same questions on twitter. Someone there mentioned CounterSocial. I tried it before, unsuccessfully, but it's grown alot. The interface is already better than Tribel.

(12,744 posts)Occupy Dems is a BIG red flag for me. And a quick skim of Rivero's tweets about Tribel show the same flags.

Theres a popular myth about a frog that stays in a pot of gradually heating water until it boils to death. Its not true. The original frog takes a bit longer, but it does hop out. And yet, our fatalist belief in the myth of the dead frog makes a lot more sense after my first week out of Twitter, and onto a social media platform unlike any Id experienced before. CounterSocial is one of a few forums you might have heard mentioned in the wake of Elon Musks declared intent to buy Twitter, but its not a replacement. Its been around since 2017, as a specially curated instance of pre-existing infrastructure, and it has the potential to be so, so much more.

Isn't blocking entire nations 'racism' or 'xenophobic'?
Surely that's 'nationalistic'?
Well then it MUST be 'censorship'? Right???
What about my 'free speech'?
Well dayumm, CounterSocial must be somehow violating the (A)GPL license then?
Who defines these rules, anyways?
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Is that a European or African Swallow? There's a difference ya know!
