Just dropped by to say: I'm enjoying the change in weather.

I live in Southern California (near the coast).
We had a horrid 100 degree heat wave a couple weeks ago. It barely dipped to mid 70's at night. I think a broken up tropical storm made its way into our area.

This week, we've been waking up to a house that is 65 degrees—just from having the windows open.
When I walk my dog, it's around 55-60.

...and loving it.

This is for all the cool weather lovers out there—like me!

And an advanced "Happy Hallowe'en!"

The colder it is the more calories burned to keep warm and the more one can eat.

I live in Ohio, and one of my friends once visited the San Diego Zoo in January. The temperature was in the fifties. My friend had the zoo to himself!

5. All my dogs have always been "snow dogs" absolutely enthralled with cold weather. Me too, frankly

And this summer's record heat nearly did us all in, given I eschew A/C because it makes it very difficult to do outdoor activities when you become so accustomed to artificially cooled environments. Of course, we do our hikes in the wee hours of the dawn. But, I have never been less productive at home the past months, given the miserable heat.

So now we have our first light snow/rain mix and I could not be happier even as my head throbs from the dramatic change in barometric pressure. My sweet doggy girl has been doing her happy dance all week. Now time to pull out a space heater or two, I suppose (or at least get them ready).
