I would intentionally avoid going to my grandparents on Sundays because I knew I would be dragged to church. I dearly loved and cherished them but they never missed church. They were on the extreme side of being poor and to watch my grandmother put her only 5 or 10 dollars in the offering plate, with the preacher knowing how poor they were always made me angry as hell.
