Former partner of accused Paul Pelosi attacker DePape reveals new details about suspect

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The former partner of the man accused of violently attacking Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband at their San Francisco home on Friday is revealing new details about the suspect.

"Hello this is Gypsy Taub. I am the ex-life partner of David DePape and the mother of his children," said Oxane Taub, calling from the Californian Institution For Women in Corona, California.

Taub -- better known as "Gypsy" -- is a well-known nudist activist who spoke with ABC7 in 2013 at a protest in San Francisco.

"We just wanted to test the waters to see how much the police department respected our first amendment rights," said Taub in 2013. Now she's revealing a longtime relationship with David DePape.

"He is mentally ill. He has been mentally ill for a long time," said Taub, who last year was found guilty on 20 counts, including the attempted abduction of a 14-year-old boy near his Berkeley high school.

In court it has been accepted that no reasonable person would believe Fox News. This means the average republican is not a reasonable person. This is not really a stretch of imagination. The stuff that Fox puts out, in isolation is obviously insane. Yet without the proper background these people accept it.

It looks like a quarter of our population or more is mentally ill. Sadly it seems that being white, over 30 and male may be a strong indicator for insanity. The same folk that said, "Never trust anyone over 30," after becoming 30 pretty much proved that there was reason not to trust them. I was six years too young to be a hippie, but I knew a lot of hippies and it amazes me how many of the few remaining are now maga.

According to Fox News, Paul Pelosi was assaulted at his home in San Francisco the other night.

Just because they're so hated at DU, here is a link to the story at Fox News:

NANCY PELOSI • Published October 28, 2022 9:12am EDT

Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul, 'violently assaulted' in home invasion, spokesman says

Pelosi spokesperson says 'assailant is in custody,' motivation for San Francisco break-in under investigation

Are you telling me that this didn't happen?

A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit against Fox News after lawyers for the network argued that no "reasonable viewer" takes the primetime host Tucker Carlson seriously, a new court filing said.

The term "reasonable viewer" appears twice in the dismissal. It concludes:

Because Ms. McDougal has not pointed to specific facts pertaining to Mr. Carlson’s alleged biases and otherwise does not provide a permissible theory supporting a finding of actual malice, the Court cannot find a plausible inference that actual malice exists. As a result, the Motion to Dismiss is granted on this ground.

Thanks for looking that up.

I emphasize once again that I am not a lawyer, so with my opinion and $5 you can get a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Apparently not even a big cup anymore.

An opinion show doesn't have to prove that everything they say is based on verifiable facts to avoid defamation lawsuits.

Making that defense in court isn't the same thing as the network admitting that no rational person would believe anything they report

There was a huge divide in that (my) generation. The majority of the people in college were anti war, the majority of guys who didn't went to war. However, just as In recent times, you could not assume everyone antiwar was liberal. However, the young people saying not to trust anyone over 30 were mostly those in college and/or anti war.

The ones who became the MAGA people were more likely to not be college educated and in red rural areas. They were likely the most offended by the "hippy" youth image.

PEOPLE V OXANE TAUB

On Aug. 26, 2021, a jury found defendant Oxane Taub guilty of 20 counts-- from felony charges of stalking, dissuading a witness, and attempted child abduction to misdemeanor counts for violating protective orders and child molest.

The defendant, a 50-year-old woman, became fixated on a 14-year-old boy in 2018. Over the course of 14 months, she sent him numerous obsessive emails, created blogs directed at him, used his friends to send him messages and eventually tried to abduct him a few blocks from his school in Berkeley. While the case was pending, Taub also tried to dissuade the victim from testifying.

DDA Lori Mullins prosecuted the trial, with assistance from Victim-Witness Advocate Erica Chavis.
