I hate to rain on your parade but.....
Let's be serious about that. The entire world uses Twitter not just the United States and if every American stopped using Twitter it would still have 100s of millions of users around the world.

Everyone is on there including every single member of Congress. Twitter does something what no other social media site can do; put you in direct touch with your local rep or any member of Congress. Yes we can "Facebook does that!" but not everyone is on facebook anymore especially after the 2016 & 2020 elections.

Leaving will do nothing except give conservative whackos a huge voice which goes completely unchallenged.
I'm not willing to accept that.

Also all the major media is on FB.
Twitter is the preferred medium for breaking news and it is the only medium, where you can tag your elected officials and get results. While they are in session, they are looking at their Twitter feeds. Also lobbyists connect me via email and tweet tags to my elected officials. However, the lobbyisrs do not do FB tags! They know Twitter and email gets results and FB does not.

This was before the drama at FB.
