Twitter never had much moderation to begin with, only the most extremes. It got a bit better over the last year or so only because a lot of the losers went to Truth Social and other platforms. Now a lot got excited because they thought (incorrectly) that they were being censored on Twitter before and came back to spread their hate.

In reality nothing with Twitter itself has changed, Musk hasn't changed a thing. Just like always with trolls and bullies if you ignore them they will go away. If everyone who is decent on Twitter leaves then all that has happened is you've given it over to the trolls.
