I realize there are a lot of tweets from people I DO want to hear from, but I'm beginning to feel that we're enabling the site by continuing to follow along with what's coming out of there.
Given what we've seen in the short time since Musk took over, I'm expecting Much Worse to come. It's pretty much all downhill from here.

(113,947 posts)--if they embed the content AND likewise the text in case the tweet doesn't show.
A lot of us (myself included) have never registered and never intend to. If we see Twitter content here that is worthy of comment, not sure why that should bother anyone. Musk is doing quite a good job destroying what is left of Twitter on his own. Seeing someone link an important comment from a valued legal source, prominent historian, or other with particular expertise (for however long they might be on Twitter) doesn't seem too problematic. Even posting the controversial tweet of Kanye or other such deplorable figures serves to spread the word if done in the context of discussing our response to antisemitism, misogyny, racism, and the like. We see it, and we comment. I doubt many go over there seeking more if they aren't already Twitter users. So, no $$ to Elon.

Nor does it disallow posting for the purpose of BOTH informing DUers of what is being said and discounting/discrediting it. We have done this since 2001, starting with what the FREEPERS were saying and to this day the crap from Fox, Trump's Truth Social, and even the more sickening Breitbart, NewsMax, and OANN when it was still around. What it MEANS is that you can't post as TRUTH, RW memes using these sources as "proof."

(17,149 posts)I have to say the TOS confuses me at times.
It states no bashing of Democratic political figures, yet Manchin and Sinema were accused time and time again of accepting bribes or being an agent of Putin, and those were allowed to stand.

Personally, I really don't get it. You'd never know that just a few years ago, no one was on Twitter. Now it's like oxygen for some.
But yes. Using it, linking to it, screen shotting it - all of these support it. All of this puts money in Musk's pocket.
