Talking about Republicans ... could it be just pure "Evil" they are enthusiastic about?
I mean all the inhumane, incredible zombie shit we post about on DU about them and their beliefs, crazy insane ideas and actions everyday.
"Thank you sir may I have another"? From those they vote for ... but oh no don't ever underestimate "Republican Enthusiasm".
Got me?
Note: If you are still Republican I don't distinguish you from Extreme MAGA now. That is all there is left of that Cult. And I will not associate with you period. Happy Halloween.

(131,220 posts)those they consider lesser than themselves or undeserving of the same rights and privileges they have. The cruelty is the point. And they don't care if they harm themselves in the process as long as those people are harmed at least as much.

(7,357 posts)I have a MAGA sister ... haven't spoke to here in 3 years. Not gonna ha. "The cruelty is the point" She's I believe striking out at others from her own "failures" basically in life. Has so much hate embodied in her. My folks (deceased) would be appalled. But yea life goes on. All the best & peace.

(14,379 posts)They practice the first two 24/7. Winning an election allows them access to the third which in turn allows them to enact the fourth, which is what they truly crave. No wonder they are enthusiastic.

(18,859 posts)Their enthusiasm is just "Beat the Dems"
Nothing deeper than that.
They blame their shitty lives on Democrats and disadvantaged people.

(5,945 posts)There are those that fervently believe that an abortion is murder and believe they are doing the right thing in suppressing/ outlawing it. The Dobbs decision gave them hope that they can get to their finish line.
The backlash against trans groups for children, drag queen story time, etc is very real as well.
In both those cases, they believe they are not only right, but 'thinking of the children'.
Gun nuts are enthusiastic over the Bruen decision, where Thomas pretty much gave them the tools they need to gut most existing gun restrictions.
Anti-immigrant sentiment seems to be rising again, as is backlash against globalism.
And I haven't even mentioned inflation yet.
So yes, there are plenty of them who I can see being enthusiastic. It's all a matter of beliefs and perspective.
doublethink
(7,357 posts)it's more a perspective of 'hate' 'ignorance', 'racisicism' etc ... you really think Anti-immigrant sentiment is a backlash against globalism? You lost me there ... but any-who ... these people are pretty F'd up on their world view of the facts, not just beliefs and perspective. All the best. Peace.
