I'm sick of speculation of a Trump 2024 presidential candidacy. The man tried to subvert the constitution and became the first president in history to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power and attempt to launch a civil war to keep himself in power. Did we not learn anything from Europe of the 1930's? Others are already in prison for participating, though I think the penalties are too lenient. But he and his minions are out making money by duping people out of political contributions, also illegal. They are proverbially shooting people in the middle of Fifth avenue and walking away.
But beyond that, the fact that there are people who are planning to cast ballots for that to continue is beyond reason. Stand up for the country, make a plan to head out to vote this week, or on November 8th and preserve justice.

It takes an amazing amount of stupid to keep trying to shave the grocery bill down so you can send more money to a self professed billionaire. Televangelists must have them all very well trained.

(2,254 posts)..decades of the 21st century with real time dictators...
As has been said so many times, the voting people who want Trump or a Trump2 back in office are the problem. The xenophobes who were always around, have been empowered by a xenophobic, opportunistic, corrupt, power hungry ex-president and a bunch of xenophobic, opportunistic, power hungry politicians.
Republican politicians can't see beyond the next election and Republican voters just can't see or refuse to see. The voters want what they want, without compromise, and the politicians want to get elected or reelected. It's that fucking simple...and that set of conditions is not going to change any time soon.
The voters don't give a damn about global warming or a finite supply of crude oil or a pandemic that can kill people or someone living under a bridge in a cardboard box or someone who needs Medicare or SS benefits or someone who needs an abortion or the Ukrainian war. It's all about "me".
I too, get frustrated with the voters but I get livid with the Republican politicians who have no solutions but spend all their time blaming inflation on 'Biden's socialistic agenda'. You can listen to them all day long and they never mention inflation being global nor the real reasons for inflation. And if they win back majorities, inflation won't go away...unless they incentivize oil companies and big business.
All we can do is vote and hope the decent and sane people outnumber the xenophobes.
