Trumpers want all the polls to show them ahead or close

so that they can cry foul when they lose. So they've been pumping out partisan polls that show them ahead and the media has been lapping them up. Then, surprise, non partisan polls come out showing something very different. The damage is done.
Why are so many journalists willing to go along with this #$%%?

advertising. Make an election like a close horse race, and they'll watch. Plus, it keeps them from having to admit they were wrong for choosing the losing candidate.

effective pleas for money "we're in a really tight race, your donation is needed, your donation can make the difference, etc" whereas "give us money because we're totally going to lose(or win) whether or not you donate" doesn't work so well.
