"Voter Integrity" group in my county

Local stations have carried an announcement from the County Board of Elections that a group calling itself County Voter Integrity has been going door to door questioning people about their past voting history and location.

The people using this group name had one person's voting registration from a previous address plus current registration and asked if they were the same person. The individual being questioned asked if the group was from the county government or Bd of Elections and when the canvasser said no, he was asked to leave.

So the Board of Elections has been making public announcements that the "Voter Integrity" group does not represent them and people do not have to answer these questions. If people feel any intimidation is being used by these questioners, they should call the county sheriff's office.

I wish this were pointed out more. Their claims of corrupt elections has never shown any evidence, except a few isolated rethug cheaters. It really piss me off that they are willing to attempt to destroy citizens faith in the election process. and it all started with TFG. The sooner he gets indicted the better for the country.

2. They're looking for voter fraud - or actually it's fake voter fraud

Article in Reuters (included in OP link) is completely about this happening in at least 20 states. The plan is to "prove" that the 2020 election was a big fraud, by going into Democratic-heavy districts and cities and knocking doors, asking questions.

Of course there was no fraud, but what these Repukes are doing is illegal. People are being fooled into thinking they had to answer the questions about their voting history. What they needed to do was to call the police and report it.

3. My county is mixed. The rural areas are very red.

A couple cities and villages are blue. Overall totals have Dems as the minority in the county. The two villages that were targeted by the "integrity" group are Democratic. They each have local village offices on their ballots.

The Congressional seat that is open will be won by the Republican. It always is, no matter who Dems put up or how hard we work at it. The state Dem party ignores us as a lost cause congressionally.

So, this group is aimed either at local village seats or, more likely, at trying to discredit a win by Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul.
