It's a shame they're too 'liberal' for some.
Sympthsical
(9,073 posts)And it's been posted here many times.

he founder of Occupy Democrats is defending the well-known Democratic activist group's work after critics have alleged that the brunt of the organization's spending over the last several years largely went to a handful of liberal consulting firms, including an LLC owned by the founder and his brother.
On Monday, wildlife photographer Hamish Mitchell posted several photos on Twitter of Occupy Democrats' campaign finances over several cycles where he pointed out the combative meme-making social media titans spent the lion's share of the fundraisingabout $577,000 of a total $797,000 raised this cycleon "fundraising consultants," with no contributions to candidates.
However, a quarter-million dollars of what the group raised over this past election cycle, Mitchell pointed out, went to Blue Deal LLC, which is owned by Occupy Democrats' founder Omar Rivero and his brother, Rafael.
While Blue Deal had reportedly done nearly $600,000 in contracts for California Congressman Ro Khanna's campaign, Occupy Democrats was the firm's second-largest clientraising eyebrows about whether the media brand known for eye-rolling memes and all-caps attacks on Republicans represented anything more than a means for the brothers to pad their bottom lines.
That's the thing about grifters - their whole deal is that they kind of just tell you what they think you want to hear so you'll give them money.
Their track record isn't good anyway:

(10,429 posts)And a six-figure budget wouldn't make many meaningful contributions anyway.
It seems that some just don't like their opinion, even though a lot of their work effectively kicks republicon ass. Which is why I like them.
Sympthsical
(9,073 posts)Which is a lovely - and reliable - liberal publication.
I don't support assholes just because "I like the memes!"
But I'm also not a 17 year old on Instagram, so . . .
And as noted, they're not good with the whole "actually being true" thing. I've long noted they publish many factual inaccuracies in their stuff even before the grift surfaced.
FoxNewsSucks
(10,429 posts)when it's accurate. Which, other than a typo, in this case it is.
If we can take the help from the likes of Liz Cheney, or other right leaning sources that happen to take our side, I'll use an Occupy picture when it helps also.

(9,073 posts)And that is promoting and supporting them.
And hey, people are free.
But let's not pretend that it's not the choice that it is.

(47,419 posts)has been too many inaccurate memes that don't pass the fact-check test. I try to avoid their memes because I can't always trust their accuracy. I didn't know about the fundraising track record.

I gave up on ever seeing the world return to the use of good spelling. Too many people rely on spellcheck, and too many more think that text abbreviations are OK to use everywhere.

Let's all hope musk holds his breath for this to happen. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Did you see King's tweet where he said musk should be paying him for content? I agree!

(65,010 posts)The single biggest reason Lindell was in his own commercials was because they needed to keep advertising costs low.
Despite his reputation (unwarranted), the company never had over $152 million in revenues. (It's down 35% now).
The valuation never exceeded $150 million, and creditors owned $125 million of it.
I haven't looked for the data to estimate current value, but my guess is is no higher that total debt leaving no net value to Mikey & his partners.
Musk isn't recovering anything from that coke head.

(102,236 posts)It pains me that the sender of that Tweet can't even proof a brief Tweet. Credibility matters.
Also, General Motors among others, BTW:
Key Facts. The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that General Mills, Pfizer, Audi, Volkswagen and Mondelez International Inc.the maker of Oreosstopped advertising on Twitter after Musk took over the company, in part due to concerns about how Twitter will moderate content.

(102,236 posts)I'm just irritated this group, Occupy Democrats (who are already a bit questionable) will not take two seconds to proof their tweets. Call me Mr. Wilson grumbling at Dennis if you wish, but it is infuriating to me. 140 characters are too much to take a single second to proof?
But, no, of course, Pfizer is doing the right thing, as is (apparently) General Motors, General Foods, Audi and all the others.
