Get Ready, Trump Tells Iowa Crowd as He Prepares to Announce White House RunThe potential announcement date was first reported by Axios.
On Thursday night, Mr. Trump opened a swing of four rallies in the final five days of the midterm elections in Iowa, where he was joined by Senator Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican seeking an eighth consecutive six-year term.
His Iowa stop highlighted both the power and the limitations of his political brand as he inches closer to announcing a third presidential campaign.

(103,806 posts)All his other grifts have been exposed or stopped so he has the campaign card to play for fund-raising. It's all he has left for demanding donations and think he's getting away with it. I hope it doesn't work out for him.

(6,916 posts)...state that, since Trump is a declared candidate, DOJ will need a Special Procrastinator...errr...prosecutor.

(53,540 posts)but I don't think Trump will escape justice that easily this time. There are too many lawsuits in the works.

(53,540 posts)though I think he'll be disappointed. There are an awful lot of investigations against him going on. I don't think all the time and effort is going to be shelved because he claims to be running for president. I think the walls are closing in on him and he is getting desperate.

(8,103 posts)I dunno, I've lost something there. Let's see, 2016, first term; out of office at end of 2020. 2022, Midterm campaigning, but this is not yet the Presidential campaign. He campaigned one time in 2015. His second campaign will commence shortly. Third campaign?
You can't be a President a third time. ( If you could, Obama would be my choice.) So, what am I missing here? I guess you can campaign as many times as you want. But, you can only be President twice.
What is the advantage of saying that this would be the third campaign? This is not the first time I have seen people saying this is his third time. Can you think of anything that makes this a strategy for Trump? Did he campaign against Obama, and I missed it?? Is this a birther thing? He wasn't a candidate then, was he? I'm mixed up here.

(53,540 posts)2016, 2020, and 2024 if he really does declare he's running. I'm still not sure.
I'm clearly lost here. I thought we were doing Midterms. Well, I'm not voting for any Republican, so it doesn't matter.
Vote. them. all. out. of. office. That's my advice. A vote against a Republican is a vote against fascism.
Edit: Oh, this about the 2020 election that he lost. So, we're talking 2015, 2020, and now 2024? Thank you for helping me out.
PatSeg
(53,540 posts)if he really runs again. Of course, Trump would like to make every election about him!
