How to ruin your electric car business by Elon Musk

How to ruin your electric car business by Elon Musk

1. Before ruining your business, first build a brand that appeals to a forward-thinking customer base.

2. Spend years raising your profile and make your own name and reputation synonymous with your products.

3. Once you dominate market share, wait for other companies to ready themselves before making your move.

4. Now search for a completely different business to distract you from your core electric vehicle business.

5. Buy a business that can inflict as much damage to your brand and your reputation as possible.

6. A social media platform would be ideal to turn into a cesspool of hate that can turn off potential customers.

7. To do this, declare yourself a “free speech absolutist,” cut staff, and scrap content management standards.

8. Start a war with advertisers to publicize that you are fighting for racists, neo-Nazis, and traitors to have a voice.

9. Declare yourself a hardline political partisan to alienate the political group that is more likely to buy EVs.

10. With all this damage done, sit back and relax while rival companies like Fisker, Rivian and Lucid take your market share.

While everyone is predicting his downfall over a stupid social media site, he’s launching rockets with secret military payloads and making hundreds of millions.

The funniest part of the whole written scenario is number six saying that Twitter will turn into a cesspool instead of saying it will continue to be a cesspool.

I don’t think people get all outraged over this nonsense like a small percentage maybe. All this over Twitter really? Twitter means that much to people? And a sad in a way I never had it so I guess I never understood the obsession over it I did read some tweets on here, and most of them are opinions. Bunch of criticizing people.

Mercedes will have that part of the market after Musk shoots himself in both feet.

If you want a practical, affordable EV, Chevy is your choice. Tesla will never make an affordable vehicle.

What I'd like to know, is how many liberal employees of Tesla & SpaceX & Twitter will find an exit ASAP instead of continuing to work to support this asshat? I expect the "brain drain" will be seriously detrimental to all of his companies.

Make an EV that has zero chance of turning a profit without selling your green vouchers to other suppliers....so that you must align yourself with the most vile politicians, because really progressive politicians and bureaucrats may realize that allowing one company to sell green car credits to the other companies making gas guzzling SUVs will not actually help climate change.

But. Oh snap, those vile people who don't see through you, do not believe in climate change and want to undo the rules that help your company....if they win and change the law, green car credits have no value, so my car company cannot turn a profit, in fact it will lose a shit ton of money....

Now you need a government that is in hopeless gridlock so that no laws can change in either direction....

Grasping at straws you hope to replace Putin's previous puppet with yourself by taking over a social media company that cannot monetize what it does... probably didn't think that through....

Now I fear it may go the way of the Tucker or Edsel which is a terrible shame.
I admired Musk's ability to run several innovative and successful companies but now that he's showing his rotten insides to everyone he could become a pariah that rots everything he touches.

Maybe he can keep Tesla and SpaceX afloat by selling only to MAGA imbeciles. -- Yeah, right.

When BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, Cadillac, Lexis and every other luxury and non luxury brand goes full electric, the crap build quality of Teslas will hurt them with discerning buyers and there will be little reason to buy one.
