(10,265 posts)Also, isn't there a Chinese satellite with a decaying orbit about to come down the one where the PRC won't release it's composition which would allow scientists to better predict where it might fall?
Edit: not a satellite but a rocket booster. Apparently it fell yesterday into the Pacific. I wonder if this could be debris from that boosters breakup?

(20,375 posts)Whoa, it came out of the sky
Landed just a little south of Moline
Jody fell out of his tractor
Couldn't b'lieve what he seen, oh
Laid on the ground a-shakin'
Fearin' for his life
And then he ran all the way to town
Screamin', "It came out of the sky"

(10,265 posts)If it turns out to be a meteorite, they could claim Act of God and likely not cover it. If found to be man-made space debris, I could see them saying: Call China, it's their problem
.good luck.
Either way and as you said, a hell of a battle. Chances are the little guy would not prevail.

(33,214 posts)in a flash just disappearing as it reached the hill about 200 yards in front of me! It seemed so close I thought I'd hear or feel it hitting the ground. But obviously it burned up before it did. Still it appeared to be the closest one I've ever seen.
