They're still buying into the "China is going to eat our lunch" nonsense that Trump likes to spew. Hal Sparks did a deep dive into one of Zeihan's lectures earlier this year. His commentaries are based on his own multiple trips to China. He corroborates Zeihan, and points out a lot of other things going on there that most of us don't hear about. I wouldn't be surprised if Hal made multiple comments on Eloon's tweet, contradicting it with facts.

it has nothing to do with running a business. Everyone who is laughing at him for "running twitter into the ground" is missing the bigger point. Probably the same people who laughed at the idea of tr*mp on his golden escalator ever being president.

musk wants to be president would be my guess. What ever happens, this won't ruin tesla or his other investments as people keep hoping. The rules that apply to normal business don't apply to people like musk or tr*mp. They are dangerous and will do anything to seize power.
