(77,315 posts)Because republicans own the media. Will you see that a Russian admitted to rat fucking our elections
for Trump on the front page of the NY Times tomorrow or the leading story on CNN just like they pushed
the HRC and email story.

(4,616 posts)Ad time on Fox. Or any other outlet for that matter. $$ is $$ no matter what your political preference.

(11,696 posts)A lot of liberal ads were refused by media companies, including the corporation that owns most of the billboards in the country.
Politics is more important than the money, and even if not, rightwing dark money & PACs more than make up what they lose by refusing a liberal ad.

(7,794 posts)The implications speak whole volumes of tomes. Too bad so many people don't know how to read.

In fact, maybe Dems should publish a newsletter every 6 months or once a year at the end of Congressional sessions that lists the bills passed and how each person voted. Make it available on Facebook and other websites and print out hard copies that can be distributed in target areas, like red states and red Congressional districts across the country.
The list would include a one or two sentence summary of the bill with how people voted.
It's possible now to look up individual persons online and how they voted, but a one stop listing of all bills and votes would be better.

(4,616 posts)Why the fuck do Americans need to be constantly blasted stuff that is clearly widely available and HAS BEEN in the public sphere several times?

(6,017 posts)It's a private equity company. They sell off everything of value like real estate, fire the newsroom, and reformat news feeds from a regional aggregate - even local news. The model is to coast on current advertisers + long time subscribers until there's no value left in the company. Meanwhile, load it up with debt, then declare bankruptcy or close it and sell off whatever is left.
The paper/news site for the county just to the South was bought by Alden. News is now rarely current and always bland, to the point of avoiding named politics directly. Instead they now report on what I would best describe as Fox News Human Interest stories.
Alden, by the way, is a strong Republican financial supporter. They are also not the only private equity company doing this, and I've not even touched on radio or TV stations.
So, if you are gen-x or older and live in the county to the South of me and you get your news from the newspaper or their site...you won't have seen any of the info you are referring to.

(8,198 posts)Most people have no idea what Republicans voted for or against, they just don't pay attention to it, instead, they believe what they're told to believe.
It's sad but true.

(9,090 posts)and unlike fox they are locally coordinated for every election
until dems stop ignoring that problem that buzz will reach a huge part of the country either directly or down the road and it reaches a lot of too-busy or apathetic and lazy voters who get that buzz from friends etc who do get it directly
that's why so many idiots will vote for republicans based on the economy - and will then get the pollution, high prices, low wages, and wait for the trickle down, like good pee-ons, and then be led by the same radio stations in blaming democrats for it.

(1,492 posts)...for over a month how the party could be ripping to Republicans' economic ads to shreds. The Republicans have fought against efforts to fix the supply chain, including voting against the baby formula bill. How that doesn't end up in an ad is beyond me.

(1,774 posts)facts and honesty. All things that don't get out the vote in this screaming social media environment. The rePUKES understand that and have adjusted and use fear instead of L,F & H.
Just my 2 cents but if the economy is driving this election cycle. Biden should have embraced it with:
"You know why our economy is struggling? Because the president at the time of the most devastating pandemic to hit America in generations LIED to you that it was "just like the flu". I, Joe Biden, saved this country from not high inflation, not a recession but I saved this country from a DEPRESSION. We had to pump billions into YOUR pockets and businesses to save us. And you know you have to pay it back at some point. etc etc etc.
Should have been stronger. Louder and in the face of America.
Rant over. #VoteBluetosaveAmerica

(43,307 posts)Twitter is owned by a Republican.
Fox News is owned by a Republican.
CNN is owned by a Republican.
OANN is owned by a Republican.
Parler is owned by a Republican.
Newsmax is owned by a Republican.
Daily Wire is owned by a Republican.
MSM present 'news' as neutral when they're actually center right.
The liberal media is a Republican myth.
AND so is the lie that Democrats have a messaging problem.
You've bought the Republican owned corporate media hype that "Democrats have a messaging problem."
Democrats have a cockblocking Republican owned media problem.
Beware the FUD, bro.

(389 posts)most everything? How many people died of Covid because of him which caused all types of economic and societal problems. How about the war in Ukraine? Trump cozied up to Putin and said there was no reason not to believe him even if the FBI and the CIA said otherwise. Don't you think that gave Putin a green light to do what ever he wanted? What has that done to the global economy?
And don't get me started on companies raising prices when they don't need to and blaming inflation.

(3,719 posts)It's a little late to be saying "why the fuck didn't Democrats do this or that". Seems a bit defeatist to be touting this BS right now instead of offering encouragement and positive energy. It's like telling a smoker the day of their heart attack why the fuck did they smoke. Wasteful and non productive rhetoric for the immediate present IMO.

(8,561 posts)Anyone can go on social media and tweet those images, or share them on FB, or email them to people who think there's no difference between the two parties so why bother voting.
