Ive been a vote by mail voter for years. I dont remember what its like to go to the polls and vote anymore! So, please forgive this question! Can one bring a voters pamphlet or a cell phone in while voting? How do you remember who and what to vote for when there are so many things on the ballot?
Slightly embarrassed, but willing to ask anyway!

(7,862 posts)For instance, it is/was illegal for voters in Texas to use electronic devices (including, yes, cell phones) within 100ft of voting stations; see: https://www.kvue.com/article/news/politics/vote-texas/early-voting-texas-location-phone-written-notes-rules/269-4d0d6359-91b1-4b0e-9cfc-d95c18608030

(7,862 posts)We don't really even have "voting booths" where I vote. They are basically voting machines that are set up on fold-up tables with big dividers around the sides of them so that you can't see what the next person to you is doing on their machine, but the back is wide open so any observers could certainly see you if you were to pull out your phone and start using it.

We since then have enacted no excuse absentee balloting.

(1,775 posts)take a cheater note with me after all the research so I don't forget. Some of the candidates list as non-partisan, so you have to dig in advance to know what you are looking at.
In my state, as long as you aren't taking photos or video, it's all good.
