This district was expected to stay blue, but I read somewhere, I think NYT, that losing this district would be a sign of the worst case scenario for Democrats. So the fact that she has already been projected to win seems like good news. If Spanberger is projected to win soon that would be even better news.

(7,840 posts)That if it were a true wave election, that this is a bellwether district that would go to Republicans.

(7,840 posts)I believe he listed three VA bellwethers for how Republicans believed they would do:
- Okay night for Republicans, Republicans win VA-2.
- Good night for Republicans, Republicans win VA-7.
- Great night for Republicans, Republicans win VA-10.
Based on the results so far, it seems like somewhere between an okay and a good night for Republicans, at least in the House.

(11,605 posts)Or was VA-2 called for the Republicans?

(7,840 posts)My last post was just saying what Kornacki said Republicans were saying, based on those VA bellwether districts.
Right now, it looks like Democrats will win VA-10, but it will be an uphill battle for them to win VA-2 and VA-7.
