This may go down as an historic night for Democrats

The House is a tie and the Democrats have a 50-50 chance, according to MSNBC, to keep their majority. No, Dems didn't win senate races in OH, FL, NC where there were hopes but they still have a good shot at keeping the Senate. All of this in a year where Biden had low polling numbers and there is high inflation. Most pundits, even Dem ones, there were predictions of a 25 seat or more loss for Demcrats in the House.

And the old meme about parties with incumbents getting creamed in mid-terms has proven to be not only false here, but according to Kornacki only a couple of modern elections would have had this outcome. Lots of votes and outcomes to be determined, but like 2018 this may eventually turn out to be not a good night but a great one for Democrat.

And considering history and what could have happened, it is at least a good night. A solid majority in the House for repubs would allow them to do a lot more damage than investigations. Dems likely win the Senate and important governor races like in AZ. In a mid-terms historically favoring the out party, yes it could end up being a great night.

in this election, even is we lose the House by a few seats--- but that is even undecided at this point.

The "Red wave"?? so far that red wave is the political blood of magats being shed tonight...

God bless women, young women, young voters and African-American voters...
and even old white male Democrats like me, hahaha, but not as much.

The MSM lives in a bubble, and the polls have been fucked-- but tonight, in a different direction than the last elections...

where Kennedy lost only 5 Democratic house seats in that midterm election, in the wake of his successful resolution of the Cuban missile crisis....

of course in this case, 5 seats loses us the House....
but even a small loss has to be considered a Democratic victory, according to the previous predictions of the pundits...

Even if Democrats could hold the house this year, I would not anticipate any consequential legislative victories of us in the next 2 years, I am more concerned with holding the Senate to make more successful judicial nominations, and especially for the Supreme Court, if one should come up...

If Republicans take the House by a small margin, so be it! Let them go batshit crazy! They will only hold it for these 2 years...
